Frequently Asked Questions for Volunteers
What kinds of positions are available for volunteers?
We have many different things that you can help out with. Whether you're into creating things with your hands, helping out backstage, or helping our theatre patrons directly in the front of house we have something for you!
Backstage Positions available for most productions include, but are not limited to: costumes, set construction/painting, lighting, sound, follow-spot operators, stage managers.
Front of House posisitions include, but are not limited to: Ushers, concessions/merchandise sales and box office.
What do volunteers wear?
Clothes. No nudity allowed. :)
Specific attire will be required of all front of house positions- usually black/white business casual- but may change depending on each production.
What does "front of house" position mean?
These are the volunteers that our theatre patrons see and interact with, so make sure you smile! You will be working directly with patrons who are coming to see our shows and helping to better improve their overall experience, ensuring that they have a night they will remember for a long time!
Do volunteers get paid?
Volunteering means you are offering your time without the expectation of being paid for your services. Though that means no monetary payment, you will get to see the show that you volunteer at for free! We hope you will also gain valuable theatrical knowledge and experience, all while contributing to the growth and enrichment of your community!
How experienced do you have to be to become a volunteer?
No experience is required for most positions. An interest in theatre/arts is good for starters, reliabilty is key, as is a willingness to learn and have fun!
